Through literacy blocks incorporating multiliteracies and explicit
teaching of reading and writing skills,
cross setting Maths groups and
a strong emphasis on Information Technology, we ensure engagement,
continued progress and success for all students.
Staff use a variety of assessment tools to monitor learning and parents/caregivers are kept informed of student’s progress through interviews, written reports and frequent informal conversations.
STUDENT WELLBEING
Every morning students participate in a variety of physical activities and mid morning eat a healthy snack. Being well-equipped with sports equipment students participate in sports activities and learn skills in different sports including volleyball, soccer, softcross, t-ball and swimming.
CEEP (Cadell Extension and Elective Program) nurtures positive caring relationships with other students and adults. Volunteers from the school and wider community (CWA) enable this program to flourish. Activities such as painting murals, science experiments, string art, cooking, and gardening foster creativity and reinforce aspects of the school curriculum.
INFORMATION and COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY (ICT)
Cadell Primary School students have free access to IT equipment with a suite of eight desktops, six laptops in the Upper Primary class, six desktops in the Resource Centre and three desktops in the Junior class.
Staff use the latest technology in an effort to meet all student learning styles. Each class has an Interactive Whiteboard which allows students to be highly engaged, focused and active in their learning.
